Dadi is an Ivorian visual artist and creative director based between Abidjan and Berlin. Being part of an emerging African creative scene, he draws inspiration from words and poetry, nature (the sea and the night), and studies of peoples and societies. Nuits Balnéaires, his artist name, is inspired by a road trip through the Ivorian coastline with his father when he was a kid. The name is a French expression referring to a breathtaking experience along the seaside at night, where he was touched by the sounds of Rumba, Salsa and waving palm trees, creating his ideal tropical scene that soon became part of his aesthetics. His ability to tell stories already led him to opportunities beyond the Ivorian borders, having worked with brands such as Lagos Fashion & Design Week and creating visuals for Vlisco&co. His work has been showcased in exhibitions in Ivory Coast, New York, Toronto, Montreal, Paris and UNSEEN in Amsterdam.
